Product Description
One of two primary types of Shafted Base Gravure Cylinder in which the shafts (which are used to hold the cylinder in the press, engraving device, or elsewhere) are manufactured as part of the cylinder base. A Shafted Base Gravure Cylinder is more expensive than a sleeve cylinder (which requires shafts to be added), but that the same shafts are used for every stage of the gravure engraving, preparing, and printing processes reduce the negative effects of increased shaft errors on print quality.
